BASIC PURPOSE OF POSITION
Responsible for facilitating the processing of applications for Mediciad and Sooner Care eligibility for the contracted facility.
Takes applications for Medicaid programs and conducts interviews to obtain historical and current data in order to determine initial eligibility. Will have frequent contact with public and private social agencies and related community resources in order to determine Medicaid eligibility for the applicant
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA's)
Knowledge of principles and practices of social work; of available community and welfare resources; of casework principles and methods; of therapeutic treatment; and of psychiatric and medical terminology; and Skill in consulting with staff and agencies; and in effectively treating social and emotional problems.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Level II
Completion of the curriculum requirements for a master’s degree in social work; OR completion of the curriculum requirements for a baccalaureate degree with a major in social work, aging, juvenile services, juvenile justice, child development, or family relations and child development, rehabilitation counseling and 1 year of experience in professional social work; OR completion of the curriculum requirements for a master’s degree in a behavioral science and 1 year of experience in professional social work; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting 1 additional year of experience in professional social work for each year of the baccalaureate degree.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Level II
Completion of the curriculum requirements for a baccalaureate degree with a major in social work, aging, juvenile services, juvenile justice, child development, family relations and child development or rehabilitation counseling; or completion of the curriculum requirements for a baccalaureate degree and 1 year of experience in professional social work; or completion of the curriculum requirements for a master's degree in a behavioral science; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
A conditional offer of employment to final candidate will be contingent upon a favorable background check and a substance abuse screening.

This is a full-time unclassified state position with full state retirement and insurance benefits, including paid health, dental, life, and disability insurance. Annual leave of 10 hours per month and sick leave of 10 hours per month begin accruing immediately.
