Position location:
Oklahoma School for the Deaf- Sulphur, OK.

Selected candidate will teach at the OSD Pre-school located at the Oklahoma School for the Blind in Muskogee, OK.

Essential Functions:
To teach deaf and hard of hearing students ages three to six to prepare them for attendance at the Oklahoma School for the Deaf. Teach Deaf and hard of hearing students, plan/instruct/share with staff, including Speech/Language Pathologist, and audiologist, record student progress in curriculum IEP goals.


This position is responsible for providing learning experiences by utilizing School curriculum, IEP goals and objectives and other appropriate materials and activities.

Duties include preparing lessons plans, reports and keeping records of student behavior and attitude needed to provide an orderly productive classroom environment; ascertain learning needs of students and to establish evaluation techniques for assessment of progress, as well as participate in extracurricular activities. This position will teach in the Oklahoma School for the Deaf, Elementary Teacher.

Preferred Skills, Education and Experience: 
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or State of Oklahoma Teacher’s Certificate or qualifications to meet certification. Preference may be given to applicants with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education of the Deaf, Hard of Heating and Early Childhood.

Salary:  Annual salary is commensurate with education and years of experience; Bachelor’s degree: $33,180.00 to $44,441.00. 

Employees are provided paid health, dental, life and retirement benefits as well as an option to participate in the State’s tax-deferred annuity program.  This will be a 180-day per year, contracted position.
