School Psychologist, 2045

Position location: Oklahoma School for the Deaf- Sulphur

Essential Functions

This position provides psychological services, including administering psycho-educational evaluations to students, applicants for admission and deaf/hearing impaired individuals referred by outside agencies; prepares a written report of each evaluation. Selects, administers, scores and interprets psychological tests. Provides psychological counseling and therapy to students and their families experiencing behavior and emotional difficulties and counsels staff on behavior management and educational remediation techniques. Participates in staff meetings designed to review social, medical, emotional and psychological data pertaining to students.

Preferred Skills, Education and Experience:
Master’s degree in psychology or comparable field; and certification as a school psychologist from the Oklahoma State Department of Education. Prefer candidate with LPC license.

Preference may be given to applicants proficient in American Sign Language.

Salary
Annual Salary is commensurate with education and years of experience: $34,440.00 to $46,147.50. Employees are provided paid health, dental, life and retirement benefits as well as an option to participate in the State’s tax-deferred annuity program.  This will be a 180-day per year, contracted position.

Conclusion

Veteran’s preference points apply only for initial appointment in the classified service.
