The bi-weekly hiring will commensurate with education and experience.

This position provides leadership and oversight of statewide public health planning, implementation and evaluation.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
This position will direct, coordinate, collaborate and supervise fourteen county health department regional directors in order to provide direction and guidance for delivery of programs in the 68 county health departments across the state.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Requirements include a thorough understanding of: principles and practices of public health and public administration; the Oklahoma State Department of Health organization, development, and administration of Department programs for which responsibility is assigned; current issues and social and economic trends in disease prevention; the legislative process and rulemaking requirements to initiate new regulations, laws or statutory changes. 
• Ability to interpret needs and services into practical applications for program management; establish collaborative relationships in order to advance public health goals; and apply appropriate management and supervisory techniques. 
• Skill in budget management and development, including demonstrated success tracking and meeting budget parameters, and making informed decisions by considering all variables and using a variety of resources to analyze and assess information. 
• Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external partners, the public, other agencies, legislators, constituency groups and advisory board.

Education and Work Experience:
A Master's degree and four years of experience in public health in organizations including, but not limited to: local or state health departments, federal health agencies, hospitals, voluntary health agencies, home health service, health maintenance organization, preferred provider organization, health planning agencies, health clinics or similar health-related organization plus two years of supervisory experience.
