The Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) is responsible for providing services to Oklahomans who are affected by mental illness and substance abuse. ODMHSAS strives to provide persistent, incremental improvements in the quality and effectiveness of treatment which results in better recovery for more Oklahomans. Our state-operated facilities are commissioned to provide services that promote consumer empowerment, wellness, recovery, and integration in the community.

Major Work Duties:
Provide professional nursing services in a variety of settings including: nursing assessments, planning, interventions, health related education, case management, and administering medications and treatments prescribed by a person authorized to prescribe by state law. Incumbent will be responsible for supervision of staff.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
(Level III) Bachelor’s in Nursing and possession of a valid permanent Oklahoma license as a registered nurse as approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing and one year of professional nursing experience; or Associate in Nursing and two years of professional nursing experience; or Associate in Nursing and three years of LPN experience in psychiatric nursing. $54,040 - $68,361/year
(Level II) Bachelor’s in Nursing and possession of a valid permanent Oklahoma license as a registered nurse as approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing; or Associate in Nursing and one year of professional nursing experience; or Associate in Nursing and two years of LPN experience in psychiatric nursing. $46,000 - $58,190/year
(Level I) Associate in Nursing and possession of a valid permanent Oklahoma license as a registered nurse as approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing.
$41,000 - $51,865/year
Additional Factors for Consideration:
Upon a conditional offer of employment, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services applicants must submit to a physical examination and shall meet the physical examination requirements of occasionally lifting/carrying 50 pounds and able to push and pull a maximum force of 25 pounds.
Applicant must be able to pass an OSBI background check.
Possession of a valid U.S. driver’s license at the time of appointment to perform job related travel.
