The Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) is responsible for providing services to Oklahomans who are affected by mental illness and substance abuse.  ODMHSAS strives to provide persistent, incremental improvements in the quality and effectiveness of treatment which results in better recovery for more Oklahomans.  Our state-operated facilities are commissioned to provide services that promote consumer empowerment, wellness, recovery, and integration in the community.

Major Work Duties:
Join our team at Rose Rock Recovery Center as an Integrated Dual Disorder Counseling Specialist.  Incumbent will provide integrated counseling for persons with alcohol/drug use/abuse and mental illness as well as other services.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Master’s degree in Behavioral Science and two (2) years’ experience working with clients who have both mental illness and addiction issues or in a position with a dual emphasis. OR Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science and three (3) years’ experience working with clients who have both mental illness and addiction issues or in a position with a dual emphasis. 

Preference will be given to individuals Certified as an Alcohol/Drug Counselor or who are Licensed Professional Counselors.

Additional Factors for Consideration:
Possession of a valid U.S. driver’s license at the time of appointment to perform job related travel. 

Applicant must be able to pass an OSBI background check. 

Special Requirements
Positions within the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services for Levels I, II, III and IV requires professional treatment staff for adults knowledgeable regarding the biopsychosocial dimensions of substance abuse, counseling theory and techniques and possess one of the following; a current license as a physician in the State of Oklahoma; or a doctoral degree in psychology; or shall have a current certification as a CADC or be working toward CADC certification; and a master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or an addiction related field; or a minimum of one year of supervised experience in an addiction treatment setting and a bachelor’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 12 hours in counseling coursework; or a current license as a registered nurse in the State of Oklahoma, plus a minimum of two years of supervised experience in an addiction treatment setting; or current certification as a certified alcohol counselor. 

Professional treatment staff for adolescents shall also have received training in cultural, gender and age specific counseling techniques, child and adolescent development and issues, individual and family counseling theory and techniques.

Drug and Alcohol Pre-employment and Pre-placement Testing
Upon a conditional offer of employment, applicants for safety sensitive positions shall be required to submit to urinalysis to test for drugs.  Appointment to a safety sensitive position shall be contingent upon a negative drug test result.

THIS AGENCY REQUIRES COVERAGE 24 HOURS, 7 DAYS PER WEEK. WORK HOURS AND LOCATION MAY VARY DEPENDING ON BUSINESS NECESSITY. EMPLOYEES MAY BE REQUIRED TO WORK WEEKENDS AND OVERTIME.
