INTRODUCTION:

BASIC PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Recommends disposition of complaint, grievance; may occasionally serve as grievance decision maker.

TYPICAL FUNCTIONS:
Under the Deputy Director, position  is assigned responsibilities involving the investigation and analysis of routine programmatic, personnel, and performance issues and concerns, promotes the use of facilitation services and mediation for resolution of employee complaints, corrective discipline, or grievances within Region 3 or Child Welfare Services.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of agency policy, of state and federal regulations relevant to agency programs, of sound methods of administration; and of methods of management and planning; and skill in administering programs and supervising personnel, in maintaining positive working relationships; and in exercising good judgment in the solution of problems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of the curriculum requirements for a master's degree and 2 years of professional supervisory, managerial, consultative or administrative experience in public health administration, social work, guidance and counseling, intellectual disability, probation and parole, public administration, business administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting 1 additional year of qualifying experience for each year of required education.

NOTES:
A conditional offer of employment to final candidate will be contingent upon a favorable background check and a substance abuse screening.

Veteran's preference points do not apply to this position.
    
BENEFITS:
This is a full-time unclassified state position with full state retirement and insurance benefits, including paid health, dental, life, and disability insurance. Annual leave of 10 hours per month and sick leave of 10 hours per month begin accruing immediately.
