What We’re Looking For
As a team member you will utilize your accounting, auditing, and investigative skills to audit compliance with laws and regulations for many types of governmental and political entities across the State of Oklahoma; including but not limited to cities, towns, schools, and state agencies. In-state travel (25% - 30%) may be required for a majority of audits; therefore, flexibility with travel, occasional late work hours, and overnight arrangements is essential for this position. A bachelor’s degree in accounting or other business-related field, or a minimum of three years’ experience in an audit or investigative environment is required.

We are seeking candidates who have knowledge of state and local government. The candidate should also possess strong verbal and written communication skills, and proficiency in Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and Word. Skills must include the ability to conduct interviews with client personnel; evaluate various financial, legal, and compliance information; and perform and document audit procedures and findings leading to the preparation of audit working papers to be used in writing the final audit report.

SAI utilizes electronic workpapers in audit fieldwork and report preparation.

The Oklahoma State Auditor and Inspector’s Office is committed to our policy to provide equal employment and advancement opportunity without regard to political or religious opinion or affiliation, race, creed, gender, age, color, national origin, or disability, so long as the disability does not render the person unable to do the work for which employed. All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.
