Work Location:  State Election Board, Room G28, Oklahoma State Capitol

Introduction:
The State Election Board (SEB) is seeking a dependable, organized, and self-motivated individual for SEB’s Public Information Officer in Oklahoma City.

Basic Purpose of Position:
Duties for the non-partisan position include the following:
• Assist the Secretary of the State Election Board in promoting voting and voter registration
• Develop and execute media plans and public outreach plans
• Respond to inquiries from the press/media and the public
• Schedule press/media interviews
• Act as agency spokesperson
• Write speeches and design public presentations
• Maintain official agency website and social media accounts
• Represent the agency at public speaking engagements and forums
• Assist county election boards with press/media relations
• Fulfill open records requests
• Coordinate with public assistance agencies and tag agencies to ensure compliance with voter registration laws
• Other duties as assigned by Secretary or Assistant Secretary

Minimum Qualification:
Applicants should possess a bachelor's degree in journalism, public relations, communications or a related field, and/or two (2) years experience as a journalist or in the public relations field.
