BASIC PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The OK Benefits Project will affect other divisions, offices and units of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services. This position supports the OK Benefits Project Director and Project Team. Under direction, performs responsible administrative support duties requiring latitude for independent judgment and coordination of a variety of activities; supervises a group support employees performing varied paraprofessional and professional tasks
Initiates correspondence requiring knowledge of agency procedures and policies, but not requiring the supervisor’s personal administrative action; interviews callers and disposes of routine agency business they may present; makes appointments with higher agency officials as required; interprets and advises agency personnel on departmental rules, regulations, and laws governing the operation of the agency, division, section, department or unit; supervises the organization and maintenance of files and records of a confidential, complex, and/or otherwise sensitive nature; researches and prepares technical reports; directs the preparation of routine periodic reports; may prepare, process and submit invoices and payments for claims, budget requests and activities reports.
As assigned, may reviews complex reports for completeness, accuracy and conformance to standards; personally follows-up on discrepancies; assigns projects to staff; develops and places in operation special procedures for completing such assignments; coordinates assigned activities with individuals or units outside the work area; plans, assigns, and reviews the work for completeness and accuracy prior to necessary action or approval by the administrator of the division; trains staff; establishes and implements standards to control the quality and quantity of work.
Prepares, review and/or submits a variety of human resource or payroll request forms; assists employees with technical human resources related issues and/or coordinate communication with appropriate human resource or payroll staff. May represent the unit at meetings and conferences, both within and outside the department. Performs related work as required and assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA's):
Knowledge of spelling, punctuation and business English; of business mathematics; of modern office methods and procedures; of the maintenance of complex records; and of the major policies and procedures governing assigned programs; and
Skill in maintaining effective and satisfactory working relationships with others; in handling confidential work with tact and discretion; in interpreting and handling routing decisions in accordance with agency policy; in dealing tactfully with the public; and in following oral and written instruction.
Five years of technical clerical work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
NOTES: A conditional offer of employment to final candidate will be contingent upon a favorable background check and a substance abuse screening.

This is a full-time unclassified state position with full state retirement and insurance benefits, including paid health, dental, life, and disability insurance. Annual leave of 10 hours per month and sick leave of 10 hours per month begin accruing immediately.
