This position will be required to work in any area of the Residency, which may include administration, survey, lab, or inspection. This position will be primarily in an office environment. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: entering data into SiteManager, maintaining project files, ensuring contractors meet contract requirements, answering phones, and assisting administration with various other office assignments. Successful applicants should be proficient in basic computer skills and MS office software. This position may occasionally be required to assist with inspections on construction projects; sampling and testing various construction project materials, and setting R/W stakes. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

The Transportation Specialist job family has six levels which are distinguished by the level of job complexity, the extent of responsibility assigned for a task, the level of expertise required for completion of assigned tasks; and the responsibility assigned for supervision.
Incumbents perform entry level technical work in a training status using standardized procedures to assist and/or perform tasks such as surveying, research, planning, highway constructions inspection, data collection, and/or materials sampling and testing. Responsibilities may be assigned in any area of transportation management work.
Education and Experience None required.
Possession of a valid driver’s license in order to perform necessary travel.
