To plan, organize, direct and manage the activities of a group of divisions within the Treasurer-Tax Collector’s Office, including treasury banking operations, public debt management and administration and investment portfolio management for the County, school districts and special districts; to coordinate activities with other divisions and departments; and to provide highly complex assistance to the Treasurer-Tax Collector and/or Assistant Treasurer-Tax Collector.
The Chief Deputy level recognizes positions that provide full line and functional management responsibility for multiple and diverse divisions or program areas within a department and assumes significant responsibilities for highly complex financial management and for major financial transactions.
Receives administrative direction from the Treasurer–Tax Collector and Assistant Treasurer-Tax Collector.
Exercises direct supervision over management, supervisory, professional, technical and clerical personnel.
Experience and Training
Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience: Five years of increasingly responsible professional financial experience with a focus in investments and/or public finance including two years of supervisory responsibility.
Training: Requires an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in finance, business administration, economics or a related field.
Required License or Certificate:
May need to possess a valid driver's license as required by the position. Proof of adequate vehicle insurance and medical clearance may also be required.
