The Department of Public Works currently has one vacancy for Waste Disposal Site Supervisor for the Western Placer Waste Management Authority (WPWMA) located in Roseville, CA. The WPWMA provides solid waste recycling and disposal services for western Placer County. WPWMA staff ensures the facility is operating in compliance with all applicable regulations, meeting the needs of current customers, and adequately prepared for future customers and upcoming regulations. This position is responsible for the facility's entrance gate operations including supervising the attendants that work at the cashier booths at the Western Placer Waste Management Authority in Roseville, CA.

Under general direction, to plan, direct, and supervise the waste management facility's entrance gate operations as part of the waste management program of the Western Placer Waste Management Authority of Placer County.
This position functions as the first-line supervisor and is responsible for planning and directing the work of others in receiving wastes and other recoverable materials at all disposal sites of the Authority. The supervisor prepares work schedules, and assists in enforcing federal and state regulations regarding disposal activities. The supervisor may also be required to cover the assigned shifts of those directly supervised, i.e., Senior Waste Disposal Site Attendant and/or the Waste Disposal Site Attendant.
Receives direction from the manager or other professional staff.
Exercises direct supervision of Senior Waste Site Disposal Attendant and Waste Disposal Site Attendants, and coordinates activities with contractors engaged in disposal site activities.

Experience and Training
Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience: Five years of experience in disposal site operations including solid waste, recycling or resource recovery, and or materials receiving and accounting, one year of which must have been in a lead or supervisory capacity. One year of experience in the use of weight and scale computer software applications is desirable.
Training: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade. Additional course work in math, accounting, and or computer science is desirable.
License or Certificate
May need to possess a valid driver's license as required by the position. Proof of adequate vehicle insurance and medical clearance may also be required.
