Placer County's Community Development Resource Agency is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Engineering and Surveying Division. The candidate selected for this vacancy will be responsible for the review and oversight of grading, drainage, water quality, transportation, and site infrastructure improvements for private land development projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to: understand County codes and ordinances and apply those requirements to land development projects; apply general engineering judgment; speak to the public in a variety of settings including public hearings and meetings; communicate and work well in teams with coworkers and other County departments; understand the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the Environmental Review process; prepare well written and technical memos regarding the review and conditioning of discretionary projects; review and approve civil improvement plans; apply critical thinking and high level problem solving skills; review Community Facilities District public financing documents; participate in Specific Plan project fee program administration; and, supervise and provide direction to professional engineering staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in land development engineering as well as supervisory experience of a team of engineering professionals.
A current valid Certificate of Registration as a Professional Engineer issued by the State of California is required for this position. Please include a copy of your license with your application materials.

To plan, organize, manage, and coordinate the programmatic, administrative and operational activities of one or more functions in the department; to direct, manage, and supervise the work of assigned staff; to establish and implement assigned programs' objectives and performance standards; to serve as a member of the assigned department management team which is responsible for fulfilling the mission and carrying out the policies of the department; and to promote and participate in collaborative activities, programs, and projects that cross functional areas.
