Introduction
readySC™, in cooperation with Trident Technical College and Boeing South Carolina, will conduct a Pre-Hire Training and Review Program for potential entry-level employment opportunities at Boeing's North Charleston facilities.
Training applications are currently being accepted for the following positions:
ASSEMBLER/SEALER
Requirements:
-
Availability to work any shift as needed. Participants are often required to work weekends, holidays and overtime.

Ability to endure prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, or squatting and flexibility to access spaces that are restricted in size. Ability to work in confined spaces and on elevated spaces is required.

Over the course of the program, participants can be assigned to any building and any specialty within the assembly classification.

High School Diploma or GED required, in addition to drug screens, physical and satisfactory background checks.

Candidates must have the ability to apply sealants and/or adhesives that are durable and leak free. The following industries are known to produce skilled independent craftsmen/artisans: fiberglass boat manufacturing, finish carpentry, tub/tile installation, cake decorating.

Candidates with the combination of the above experience and the following will be preferred: prior experience in manufacturing, assembly, electrical, construction, auto mechanic OR mechanical military experience OR successful completion of a WIA-sponsored Pre-Manufacturing course or an Aircraft Assembly or Aeronautical Studies course offered by Trident Technical College.

Apply sealant and protective top coat with hand tools or pressure gun to accomplish tasks in the following areas: integral fuel cell sealing, enclosed wing sections, electrical plug plotting, aerodynamic sealing and repetitive in process sealing.

Perform Production Accountability duties associated with the processing, verification, quality auditing and inspection of assemblies, parts and tooling for which the individual has been delegated production accountability.

Maintain necessary documentation and records. Refer any unusual problems to supervision. Strict adherence and compliance to safety and Foreign Object Elimination programs.
Basic Qualifications for Consideration:

Do you have at least on (1) or more years of professional experience in construction, finish carpentry, tub/tile installation, fiberglass boat manufacturing or cake decorating with proven proficiency in any of these work related methods: application of decorative finishes, finish painting, finish drywall coating, door or window installation, caulking or sealant application?

Do you have experience reading and interpreting assembly instructions or drawings?

Do you have experience working with hazardous chemicals/materials and an understanding of MSDS documents?

Can you work in confined spaces?

If needed, can you provide proof of education?

Are you able to provide at least one (1) manufacturing reference and one (1) other professional reference, if requested?
Pre-Hire Training and Review Program Overview:
-
Phase I Training is a thirty-two hour unpaid pre-hire training and review process that is required in order to be considered for an entry-level Assembler/Systems position with Boeing South Carolina.

Upon successful completion of Phase I Training, candidates will have the opportunity to participate in a paid 180-day Pre-Hire Training and Review Program.

Upon successful completion of the paid 180-day Pre-Hire Training and Review Program, participants typically receive a job offer resulting in an increase in pay and additional benefits.
Application and Review Process Overview:

The South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce (SCDEW) will review applications and conduct interviews. Candidate applications are screened by SCDEW based on the criteria provided by Boeing.

All applications will be reviewed in the order in which they have been received. Eligible candidates will then be contacted by SCDEW via email for a follow up interview. This interview will be conducted over the phone.

Qualified candidates will be selected to participate in WorkKeys® testing and a series of mandatory contingency screenings. These assessments will be administered at no cost to the candidate.

Candidates who successfully complete the required WorkKeys® testing and contingency screenings will have the opportunity to participate in Phase I Training.
