Responsibilities

The CNC Punch/Bending Operator will produce machined parts by setting up and operating the machine to manufactures products according to customer specifications using processes as directed in routing documents and drawings to produce a quality finished product.

Prepare and set up:

  • Provide packaging materials and transportation equipment; perform machine loading.
  • Supply and removal of unfinished and finished parts as well as waste with forklift
  • Prepare tools as required / order request (tool cartridges); add tools to manufacturing system if required)
  • Set up manufacturing system
  • Carry out program adjustments as required (e.g. waste optimization; angles...)
  • Organize material handling with focus on minimizing machine downtime as much as possible

Edit:

  • Load machine program according to part number
  • Loading sheet metal blanks with loading cart and automated lift system
  • Monitoring of the working process
  • Removal and placement of finished parts into defined containers
  • Carry out assembly and packaging operations in parallel with production time
  • Prepare shift handover (material organization)
  • Carry out order confirmation incl. part identification

Checking:

  • Measuring / checking of the first part per order (external dimensions, angles, visual inspection of hole pattern...)
  • In case of rejects, information about the facts to the supervisor (rework order)

Maintenance:

  • Carry out maintenance and cleaning work according to maintenance plan
  • Carry out repairs and maintenance work within the specified scope; if necessary, inform maintenance and pass on description of malfunction
  • Eliminate process / sequence disturbances; eliminate error messages (cause analysis initiate measures, etc.)
  • Keep machine logbook
Qualifications
  • 2 yr. Technical Degree preferred (relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of the educational requirements.)
  • Manufacturing: 2 years.
  • CNC Machine Operation: 2 years (Preferred).
  • Demonstrated math and blueprint reading ability.
  • Ability to operate punch and brake presses by setting glides and making ram adjustments.
  • Ability to follow written instructions accurately.
  • Demonstrate above average mechanical aptitude.
  • Have proficient understanding of decimals and fractions.
  • Ability to convert between metric and US standard units of measure.
  • Demonstrated experience using various measuring devices, including but not limited to tape measures, height gauges, and calipers.
  • Experience operating the Salvagnini S4P4L machine is a plus.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced start-up environment.
  • Ability to work well with other people and demonstrate team player behavior.
  • Must possess and demonstrate good written and communication skills.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Local candidates are preferred. No relocation assistance will be provided.
