Paint Booth Operator



The Paint Shop Application Operator monitors and control powder coating process, perform application; Crate assembly; Assembly of small sub-assemblies with low vertical integration & packing final goods

Set up / prepare job:

  • Startup paint shop according to specifications
  • Prepare automatic application, set parameters on height movable powder pistols
  • Process color change
  • Coordinate loading/unloading with the Power & Free areas
  • Manage paint inventory (store new material, manage powder boxes in powder warehouse, make inventory corrections in ERP system)


  • Perform parameterization of paint quantity, painting speed, amperage, air volume, paint window, etc. according to economic and quality aspects.
  • Monitor manual application and intervene if necessary (paint quantity application, setting of manual guns, painting method, gun selection, ....)
  • Carry out, monitor and control automatic application
  • If necessary, apply coating manually, considering the required surface quality
  • Carry out rework if necessary
  • Perform final assembly of pre-assembled crates and pallets
  • Assembly of small sub-assemblies with low vertical integration
  • Order picking parts for final assembly with order picking list into handling unit
  • Picking and packing of final goods
  • Is available for general tasks in other departments


  • Ensure that the parts from the pretreatment are in perfect condition in terms of quality, notify supervisor if necessary
  • Visual inspection of the coated parts directly after the coating process; carry out random checks of the parts in the cure oven run-out zone
  • Analyze defects and weak points systematically (layer thickness measurement, crosscut testing). Propose and implement measures for improvement.
  • Record and document measured values in the production process, e.g. coating thickness measurements, process-related parameters.... record and document
  • Ensure optimum paint application quantity and coating speed.
  • Carry out quality decision if necessary

Maintenance and repair:

  • Eliminate minor malfunctions (e.g. change nozzle, clean filter.)
  • Carry out minor repairs (e.g. change hose.)
  • High School Diploma required, some college or business/technical trade school preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 year of related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Powder Coat painting experience is a plus.
  • Ability to operate all coating equipment including manual spray guns, hoppers, and booth collection systems
  • Uses the paint line efficiently with minimal stoppages and gaps
  • Knowledge of powder paint characteristics and application, the operation and repair of painting equipment, and material preparation
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and self-inspection techniques.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced start-up environment.
  • Ability to work well with other people and demonstrate team player behavior.
  • Must possess and demonstrate good written and communication skills.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Local candidates are preferred. No relocation assistance will be provided.
