Inventory and Quality Supervisor   

 

We are looking for future leaders of the pack for our new Distribution Center coming to Orangeburg, South Carolina! 

The Inventory and Quality Supervisor is responsible for inventory control and accuracy, as well as the quality of both inbound and outbound shipments. Along with regular assigned duties, we are looking for people who want to take on special projects and stretch assignments to grow and develop with the organization. 

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Develop the facilities inventory management strategy with the aim of achieving an inventory accuracy rate at or exceeding 99.7%. Lead and/or participate heavily in annual Physical Inventories
  • Regular interaction with peers and cross-functional leadership to collaboratively solve problems, drive improvements and efficiencies
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive Auditing program with reporting output
  • Formulate and present actionable items from the Audit observations of both work output and process output
  • Responsible for assuring quality outputs consistent with the industry.  Ensures that the facility operates in accordance with distribution best practices and follows federal and state regulatory policies
  • Management of warehouse inventories (Considering FIFO and quality aspects)
  • Review technical procedures, identify problems, and recommend solutions in the areas of quality control
  • Responsible for coordinating and responding to Pet Center complaint issues; follow through corrective action in the facility with timely responses and solutions
  • Responsible for training and development of subordinate staff to assume leadership.  Ensure that all process files are kept up to date on each initiative and program
  • Coordinate with operations to enhance safety, quality of work and cost reduction through quality initiatives
  • Perform random inspections of inbound shipments and quality assurance of the outbound (in compliance with company specifications)
  • Accountable for daily work assignments of all assigned regular and temporary labor
  • Provides leadership and guidance to all assigned staff for continuous improvement of key functions and activities to improve efficiency and meet increasing customer and business demands. May assist in counseling and corrective actions for team members, when necessary, within or outside of the department
  • Understanding of/experience with 5S/ Lean/ Six Sigma
  • Investigates process variances, incorporates root cause analysis methods, and implements appropriate actions, communication, and coaching documents. Project Management methods will be utilized
  • Enforce safety/housekeeping standards to meet AIB standards
  • Write and maintain accurate work instructions for all facets of the facility
  • Convey key information during pre-shift meetings and ensure appropriate shift hand-offs as necessary
  • Prepare, update, and maintain reports, records, and information as needed
  • Recommends layout changes to improve velocity, performance and reduces labor costs
  • Complies with all OSHA, federal, and state policies that optimizes safety within the facility
  • Ownership of all assigned supply chain functions assigned and provides day-to-day supervision of these areas

Requirements include:
  • Possess a relevant professional qualification and/or suitable background experience in inventory management or purchasing experience
  • Have a detailed understanding of ERP/MRP and/or WMS, specifically Manhattan WMOS experience, preferred. SAP, Oracle, or Red Prairie would be suitable variations
  • Possess excellent personal organization and business administration skills in accordance with modern best practice methods. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Possess the ability to work productively, efficiently & effectively with initiative and drive while under tight deadlines and pressure all while maintain attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to speak to methods of interpersonal and conflict resolution and provide examples of such
  • 3-5 years Supervisory experience
  • Six Sigma or Lean experience, Quality experience, MS Suite, Supply Chain business processes, working with data sets, multi-tasking, process driven, able to meet deadlines, develop/implement sustainable solutions, strong communication
  • Distribution or Manufacturing leadership roles, Labor Management, and process improvement experience
  • BA Degree from accredited university in Supply Chain, Business or related degree program or 10+ years’ experience
