Maintenance Technician (Night Shift)

Summary
Provides support to production equipment through troubleshooting and reliability improvements.

Essential Duties and Accountabilities 
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge and understanding of bearing application and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of CNC systems and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of PLC systems and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting
  • Ability to use general gages such as: calipers, micrometer, cylinder gage, and dial indicator
  • Knowledge and troubleshooting of oil/lube systems
  • Understanding of hand and power tool usage
  • General knowledge of operating and maintaining heating, cooling or ventilation equipment
  • Ability to analyze and solve technical maintenance problems, including building maintenance, equipment, plumbing and other simple repairs
  • Strong initiative and self-starter
  • Other duties as assigned by management
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities. 
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 
  • Special equipment knowledge (i.e., grinding, chip handling systems, vacuum and filtration, etc.)
  • Experience with metal cutting and tooling, cutting fluids, and their use
  • General knowledge of heating, cooling, and ventilation systems and operation of compressed air systems
  • Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and lubrication systems
  • Experience with PLC systems and nomenclature
  • Experience with close tolerance measurement and part drawing interpretation
  • Strong skills in problem solving, working in a team environment, interpersonal skills, and ability to access equipment to troubleshoot and support
  • Knowledge of and adherence to safety and environmental regulations
  • Able to work overtime and weekends as needed
Education and Experience
  • Associate’s degree in mechatronics, mechanical, electrical, engineering technologies, or a related field or equivalent work experience with a minimum of high school diploma or GED

  • Work shift as assigned and overtime is required, as needed
  • Will be required to do the following throughout the shift: standing, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching above and below shoulders, moving left to right repetitively, grasping, and fine finger dexterity
  • May be required to lift during shift up to 40 lbs
  • Specific vision abilities required with this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • The performance of this position requires exposure to manufacturing areas which require the use of personal protective equipment, such as steel-toed shoes and safety glasses with side shields
