Facilities Maintenance Tech II
Responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks. Performance of maintenance tasks in one or more fields such as carpentry, electrical, heating-venting-and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, etc.; Responsible for general cleanliness of the work area.
Job Duties:
- Maintain ingress and egress of company properties.
- Inspects buildings and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions and needed repair making notes and recommendations.
- Performs minor electrical maintenance to include but not limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power, and specialty tools.
- Performs minor plumbing maintenance (replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, trenching, and laying new lines, replacing drain hoses on washers and similar devices, etc.)
- Performs minor painting, carpentry, and masonry work (preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer, or roller to apply paints, stains, and varnishes hanging doors, fitting locks and handles, etc.)
- Reconfigures, installs, positions, and remounts modular offices and space (furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, storage bins, lighting, file cabinets, etc.)
- Prepares the surfaces and paints various structures and equipment (walls, floors, roofs, doors, restroom facilities, etc.) to preserve wood and metal parts from corrosion and maintain a safe, comfortable working environment using various painting equipment and related tools (sprayers, rollers, brushes, thinners, etc.)
- Order/Procure parts and maintain required documents.
- Work closely with all departments and manage requests/facility needs in effective priority order.
- Liaison for contracted facilities services and projects (Maint., cleaning, utilities, construction, etc.)
- Performs miscellaneous tasks and projects as requested by management.
Skills & Abilities:
- Support Safety, Environmental, and Production Maintenance Teams
- Light Construction, electrical and plumbing.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety requirements
- Familiarity with local building codes and where to retrieve up to date building code information.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills in order to effectively:
- Track maintenance requests
- Prioritize what needs need to be addressed first
Experience Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5 years of experience in commercial property maintenance preferred
- 1+ years maintenance experience preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS NECESSARY TO PERFORM THIS JOB
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. Strong interpersonal skills including demonstrated listening skills and the ability to present ideas and thoughts concisely and effectively both internally and outside the organization.
- Apply manual dexterity and visual acuity for computer keyboarding and office equipment use and to review detailed reports and information.
- Move around the plant and office areas repeatedly throughout the day.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Travel between TBG locations, Hardware Stores, etc. as needed.
- Prolonged periods standing and walking throughout facilities as needed to complete work tasks.
- Must be able to bend, lift, stretch, climb, and crawl to maintain equipment and buildings.
- Must be able to perform work in a variety of weather conditions.

Shift hours: M-F 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (on call as needed)
Starting wage or wage range: $23.00 per hour
