Manufacturing Technician
Position Overview
This role is responsible for assisting in the operation of manufacturing processes in a nicotine, caffeine, and vitamin production facility. This position supports the safe and efficient manufacture of nicotine and alternative-based products by following established procedures, maintaining a clean work environment, and adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), environmental, and safety standards. The Manufacturing Technician I works under close supervision and gains foundational experience in process operations and equipment handling.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with routine production operations, including nicotine extraction, purification, formulation, and packaging activities.
- Operate basic production equipment and perform manual handling of materials under direct supervision.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), batch records, and safety instructions to ensure consistent product quality and regulatory compliance.
- Accurately measure, weigh, and record materials used in the manufacturing process.
- Monitor and report process conditions such as temperature, pressure, and flow rates to supervisors or senior technicians.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, tools, and equipment in accordance with 5S and GMP standards.
- Perform basic equipment cleaning and preparation between production runs.
- Complete production logs and data sheets accurately and in real time.
- Identify and communicate any equipment malfunctions, process deviations, or safety concerns to supervisors.
- Follow all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) requirements, including proper use of PPE and safe handling of nicotine and chemicals.
- Participate in training programs to build technical skills and process knowledge.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical or vocational training in manufacturing, industrial technology, or chemical processing preferred.
- 0-2 years of manufacturing or process technician experience, preferably in nicotine, chemical, or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Experience working with automated or semi-automated process equipment a plus.
Skills
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn production operations.
- Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Strong attention to detail, quality, and safety.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry and reporting.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity to handle small parts and tools.
- May require wearing PPE (hairnets, gloves, respirators) and working in cleanroom or nicotine-controlled environments.
- Exposure to powdered nicotine and flavors; must be comfortable with handling regulated substances in accordance with safety protocols.
Work Schedule
- Full-time, may include
evening, night, weekend, or rotating shifts based on operational needs.
