Magna Seating South Carolina - Quality Technician

• Supports Quality Engineering team by issuing quality alerts for all customer rejects and assisting with containment of in-house product.
• Organizes and tracks bogey parts and boundary samples required for manufacturing verification. 
• Assures that these items are included in part review (function and visual) at calibration intervals.
• Supports Quality Engineering team in control and maintenance of PPAP records and part retains.
• Coordinates the receipt and review of all supplier PPAPs. 
• Grants approval based on supplier PPAP checklist and maintains records in Magna supplier portal.
• Coordinates, sorting, and 8D initiation for all supplier rejects. 
• Assures that all supplier rejects are closed loop through approval.

 Qualifications and Experience: 

• AAS degree in engineering field or equivalent ASQ certification is preferred with understanding of advanced quality engineering practices, principles, processes, etc.; or equivalent. 
• Previous experience in automotive industry preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with internal personnel to organize product verification.
• Demonstrated knowledge of AIAG PPAP and TS16949 requirements as related to their duties.
• Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills in order to effectively communicate with internal and external contacts and represent the Company in a professional manner when performing job duties. 
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills to exercise influence at various levels and functions.
• Must be able to operate standard and specialized equipment related to the job. 
• Strong computer background with ability to calculate and analyze data, generate reports, present information, etc.
