Extrusion Technician- Blythewood, SC

Charter NEX Films, Inc. in Blythewood, SC is now hiring Extrusion Technicians due to expansion and growth! Be a part of our dynamic Team! Employee Responsibilities:

An employee in this are responsible for the efficient operation of extrusion equipment to produce high quality specialty film. This position is an apprentice role spent in a training capacity on Charter NEX’s training program while working closely with experienced operators in line operation. Additional responsibilities include: ensuring a clean, safe work environment, setup/process control to ensure accurate procedures, completing process control documentation, working efficiently on production scheduling computers, and labeling/separating scrap product.

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent.

Schedule:

This is a full-time position consisting of a 12 hour schedule. Employees work 7 out of 14 days each bi-weekly payroll period.
Day Shift: 6 am to 6 pm

Night Shift: 6 pm to 6 am

Maintenance Technician – Blythewood, SC

Charter NEX is hiring full time Maintenance Technician in Blythewood SC.  The Maintenance Technician position is primarily responsible for performing machine repair, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on equipment as well as the buildings and grounds.  Additionally will work under the direction of the Engineering and/or Maintenance Managers to complete special projects such as the installation of new equipment.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Troubleshooting mechanical processes and controls as assigned.
  • Assembling and installing new production equipment.
  • Making mechanical repairs.
  • Completing preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Performing roll changes as dictated by the production schedule.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints/schematics as they relate to electrical and mechanical requirements.
  • Performing facility maintenance tasks.
  • Operating electrical and mechanical test equipment.
  • Maintaining a safe working environment and good housekeeping conditions.
  • Ensuring that all paperwork is completed properly and accurately.

Required Qualifications

  • 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • 3 years maintenance experience required
  • Must be able to obtain certification to operate a fork truck, scissors lift, or boom lift.
  • Two years of technical school training in Industrial Maintenance, Machine Repair, Automated Systems, or other similar skilled trades is desired along with 2 or more years of verifiable work experience in related fields.
  • Must be able to work in a fast pace environment where quality and attention to detail are required.
  • Ability to lift up to 55 lbs on a regular basis, walk/stand for prolonged period of time, and work at heights and in hot or cold conditions.
  • Experience with PLC’s, drives and industrial controls is desired.

Shift Lead – Blythewood, SC

Charter NEX is hiring full time Shift Lead in Blythewood, SC. This position has supervisory and leadership responsibilities for the effective and efficient operation of extrusion production lines and for the coordination of all plant operations during a shift. Primary responsibilities include ensuring the plant is operating safely, monitoring and enforcement of safe work practices, assuring quality operating processes, and the training and skill enhancement of Extrusion Technicians and Material Handling staff. This position reports directly to the Production Manager.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Ensures plant is operating safely and all safety precautions are being taken by employees.
  • Responsible for achieving immediate and short-term objectives for plant operations including output, quality, waste, yield, safety and reducing overtime costs.
  • Ensures that quality product is being produced at all times.
  • Contribute to achieving plant and divisional goals and objectives by supporting and following procedures, work instructions and ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • Manage a shift of employees by assigning responsibilities, delegating authority and training employees.
  • Maintain production staff job results by coaching, counseling and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring and appraising job results.
  • Reallocates tasks or rescheduling production, where necessary.
  • Ensures plant machinery is operating at highest capacity or capability at all times.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Five years in progressively responsible positions.
  • Previous leadership experience desired.
