AESC is looking to add a Lead Facilities Inspector – Electrical to our team in Florence, SC  
  • Full-Time
  • Onsite, Florence, SC 

About the Role
The Lead Facilities Inspector – Electrical supports the commissioning and quality control of electrical systems by reviewing plans, conducting tests, and ensuring alignment with project requirements. Coordinate with electricians, contractors, facilities manager, and project teams to manage timelines, inspect work, and document daily progress. Ensure all electrical installations are safe, reliable, and meet project specifications and deadlines. The Lead will ensure all electrical systems meet performance standards and project guidelines during construction phase. This role will transition into a Lead Facilities Technician – Electrical focused in late 2025.

What You Will Do
  • Lead the quality control and commissioning of electrical systems by reviewing project plans, overseeing installation, and conducting thorough testing. Participate in Factory Witness Testing to verify system functionality.
  • Ensure all electrical systems comply with project requirements and industry standards, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Coordinate with electricians, contractors, and project teams to manage timelines, monitor progress, and ensure work is performed to high standards. Analyze project documentation to confirm plumbing system performance aligns with design specifications.
  • Oversee commissioning activities to ensure they stay on schedule and meet project milestones.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to discuss progress, report on commissioning activities, and request necessary time for completion.
  • Inspect electrical installations for quality and safety, addressing any issues or deviations promptly. 
  • Inspect ongoing work to ensure it meets quality standards and specifications.
  • Communicate any deviations from the plan and ensure they are properly documented and addressed.
  • Document daily activities and submit detailed reports.
What You Need
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems and components to ensure accurate commissioning and compliance. Ability to read & understand technical designs and drawings related to wastewater and plumbing systems.
  • Work & accept direction pertaining to a focused assignment schedule.
  • Understand the ITP process and meet achievement deliverables.
  • Able to communicate with team members & sub-contractors.
  • Have basic computer skills & create reports for achievement deliverables.
  • Independent, driven, eager to learn, has strong time management skills, and the ability to manage simultaneous and often changing priorities.
  • Have basic knowledge of commissioning policies and guidelines.
  • Work in a diverse ever-changing environment.
What is “Nice to Have”?
  • Associate degree or technical diploma in Electrical Technology or relevant field desirable although experience will be considered in lieu of additional education 
  • Professional certifications such as a Journeyman Electrician license is nice to have
  • Additional training or coursework in electrical systems, codes, and safety regulations is a plus.
  • Ability to lead and mentor junior technicians or contractors in best practices.
  • New plant design, build, and commissioning is a plus. 
  • Proficient in MS Office applications 
  • Proficiency with conferencing systems (Microsoft Teams)
Travel
  • Occasional domestic travel may be required.

Work Environment
The work environment is primarily an automated manufacturing plant with a concrete floor and is characterized by some temperature extremes, moderate noise, and forklift traffic. The individual must be able to perform all essential functions as appropriate on the plant floor, in meetings, and with employees, management, customers and suppliers.
