Knowledge of: radiologic science, patient positioning, radiation safety practices and regulations (California Code of Regulations Title 17), body substance precautions, body mechanics; general knowledge of Title 22.
Ability and Skill to: follow oral and written instructions and to perform diagnostic imaging procedures; maintain efficient workflow; efficiently care for patients’ needs; perform CPR and venipuncture; effectively communicate, interact and resolve problems with patients, physicians, coworkers, students and other customers; and adhere to preventive and safety standards to limit exposure to radiation, accidents, health hazards and disagreeable elements; perform the full range of body motion, manual dexterity and eye hand coordination; stand, walk or sit for extensive periods of time; lift and carry heavy items; maintain clinical competency and pertinent continuing education; and adapt to changing technologies.
These minimum qualifications establish the education, training, experience, special skills and/or license(s) which are required for employment in the classification. License and Certification:
Possession of a current license issued by the State of California as a Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT); AND
Current registration with, the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); AND
Must obtain a valid permit to use Fluoroscopy equipment issued by the California Department of Health Services, Radiologic Health Branch within six (6) months of appointment. Possession of valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate issued by the American Heart Association
Level II:
Experience:
One (1) year of experience working as a Radiologic Technologist.
License and Certification:
Possession of a current license issued by the State of California as a Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT); AND
Current registration with, the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); AND
ARRT certification in at least one advanced modality: (e.g. Mammography (MM), Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Quality Management (QM), Bone Densitometry (BD), Cardiac-Interventional (CI), or Vascular-Interventional Radiography (VI)); AND
Possession of a valid permit to use Fluoroscopy equipment issued by California Department of Health Services, Radiologic Health Branch; AND
Possession of a valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate issued by the American Heart Association.
Level III:
Experience:
Three (3) years of experience working as a Radiologic Technologist.
License and Certification:
Possession of a current license issued by the State of California as a Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT); AND
Current registration with, the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); AND
Possession of valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate issued by the American Heart Association; AND
Possession of a valid permit to use Fluoroscopy issued by California Department of Health Services, Radiologic Health Branch; AND
ARRT certification in at least two (2) advanced modalities (e.g. Mammography (MM), Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Quality Management (QM), Bone Densitometry (BD), Cardiac-Interventional (CI) or Vascular- Interventional Radiography (VI)).
