SECTION I - Minimum Qualifications Supplemental Questionnaire (MQSQ) (Qualifying):

Instructions: The purpose of the MQSQ is to obtain specific information regarding your education and experience in relation to the position for which you are applying. Your responses below will not be scored. However, it is essential that you provide complete information in identifying and describing your education and experience. Please note: Your responses below must be consistent with the information you provide in the employment history section of the application form. You may be asked to provide verification of your qualifying education and experience at any point in the recruitment and selection processes. You must also completely fill out the Application/Employment History with all relevant experience. Experience Minimum Qualifications

How much verifiable experience do you have performing professional-level analytical work?

As a reminder, all qualifying experience must be listed in the application in order to be considered in review of Minimum Qualifications. If you do not include the work experience you are about to describe in the “Work History” section of your application, you will not receive credit for this experience, If you are copying an old application, please take the time to update your work history section before submitting your application.

Qualifying professional-level analytical experience must be in one or more of the following functional areas: complex budget analysis, development and administration; complex financial/fiscal analysis and reporting; development of complex contracting systems and administration of competitive bid processes and complex contractual agreements; development and evaluation of complex management/administrative policy; complex grant administration and monitoring; complex program evaluation and planning; complex legislative analysis; complex economic analysis; or other functional areas related to the duties of positions in Class 1822, where the primary focus of the job is complex professional-level analysis for evaluation, recommendation, development and implementation of major programs and functions of department/organization. Analytical experience equivalent to the duties of Class 1820 is considered qualifying.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY AS THEY CONTAIN INFORMATION THAT MAY AFFECT YOUR EXAMINATION SCORE AND RANK ON THE ELIGIBLE LIST:

The purpose of this Supplemental Questionnaire (SQ) is to gather information about your experience as it relates to the knowledge, skills, and abilities essential to perform the functions of the 1822 - Administrative Analyst. Candidates who pass the Core Examination will have their Supplemental Questionnaire scored. A passing score must be achieved on both the Supplemental Questionnaire and the Core Examination in order to continue in the selection process.

YOU MUST:

  1. Complete each section of the application and Supplemental Questionnaire as indicated even if the information may appear redundant. Do not write, "See application."
  2. Be thorough. Provide your best or highest examples of work.

You may list unpaid work experience on the Supplemental Questionnaire and regular application. You may use the same work experience more than once under each question or for more than one question if you feel that it is appropriate. For example, you may have held different positions or gained different work experiences while working for one employer. In that case, you might want to list your experiences separately in order to demonstrate the diversity of experiences you gained.

Your responses to the Supplemental Questionnaire will be rated by a panel of experts and will be used as part of the examination process. Your writing ability as demonstrated in your responses will also be rated as part of the Supplemental Questionnaire . The Supplemental Questionnaire will account for 30% of the total weight of candidates’ final scores. Plagiarized responses or falsified information may result in disqualification from the recruitment process.

Only the information you provide in your answers will be rated to determine your score. No attachments or additional documents such as resumes, cover letters, or employment applications will be considered (i.e. Writing ‘see resume’ or ’N/A’ is not a sufficient response). The responses that you provide to this Questionnaire should be consistent with the information on your application and are subject to verification.

It is suggested that you review the questions before starting, prepare your thorough narrative- style responses in a word processing document, and then paste them into the Questionnaire. Again, please be complete and specific in answering the questions as your score will be based on this information.

How did the sensitive nature of the information impact your research? What was the outcome of the research?

Please describe an assignment in which you had to determine the credibility of information or evidence from various data sources, such as primary documents, databases, websites, etc., to develop findings or recommendations and report on your conclusions.

What analysis, methods and/or tools did you employ in determining the credibility of that information? What challenges did you encounter in making those assessments? How did you synthesize and report out your conclusions?

Recall a project in which you faced a tight deadline to evaluate and assess the degree of compliance demonstrated by an individual, team, or entity with a standard, policy, or law that applied to them, including any related to governmental oversight activities.

Please describe the project, including how you determined the scope of information to gather to make the compliance assessment, how you gathered the information, the analysis you applied to develop and complete your assessment, what conclusions you developed as a result of your assessment, and whether your conclusions were implemented or not, and why. What impact did the deadline have on the project?
