The San Francisco Department of Public Health (DPH) is currently hiring one (1) permanent, full-time 1922 Senior Inventory Clerk. Under general supervision, the Senior Inventory Clerk will be responsible for the supervision and performance of detailed clerical and warehouse work involving the taking and maintaining of inventories of supplies and equipment.
Essential functions include:
Posts incoming charges to Materials Management System; identifies and tracks all expired products creating a loss analysis, tracks and properly coordinates the pick-up of surplus items, track and update crash carts and crash cart logs, helps the CPD Supervisor in maintaining a safe and clean warehouse.
Supervises taking of annual inventories; prepares machine tabulating cards, indicating quantity, location and description of new or reconditioned materials; checks inventory sheets from Central Distribution and assists in identifying questionable items; reports inventory or price corrections to tabulating department and notes corrections on stock records.
Assists in proof-reading purchase requisitions; estimates total cost of requisitions; checks purchase orders against purchase requisitions and calculates unit prices of all items on purchase orders.
Compiles monthly inventory reports; studies or researches projects on request; conducts cycle counts, identifies correct par levels for items, conduct audits to ensure all items are in their correct location and are properly labeled.
Clerical duties as assigned; may include greeting visitors, answering phones, filing, requisition tracking log, payroll duties, assisting vendors with the vendor credentialing system. File various documents such as charge slips, memorandums, expired/obsolete/overstock log.
Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent (GED or High School Proficiency Examination).
Two (2) years (equivalent to 4000 hours) of experience in a distribution center or warehouse in which the duties included ordering, receiving, stocking, inventory control, and/or issuing large and varied quantities of supplies, materials and equipment.

Supplemental Questionnaire (Weight 100%):
Applicants will be prompted to complete a Supplemental Questionnaire (SQ) as part of the online application process. Candidate scores from the Supplemental Questionnaire will be used to determine your final score and rank on the eligible list.
The certification rule used for the eligible list resulting from this selection procedure will be the Rule of Three (3) Scores. Additional position-specific selection mechanisms may be conducted by the hiring department prior to making final hiring decisions.

Note on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
Some positions in the Department of Public Health will require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to gloves, gowns, eye and face protection, and face-fitting respirators. The requirement for the use of PPE may come on short or no notice. Facial hair or any condition that interferes with a face-fitting respirator’s seal (i.e. comes between the sealing surfaces of the respirator and the wearer’s bare skin) is not permitted when face-fitting respirators are worn, including during initial or periodic respirator fit-testing.
Employees who choose not to shave and do not have either American Disabilities Act (ADA) or Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Accommodations do not have the right to alternate work assignments or the option of using a loose-fitting Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) in place of a FaceFitting Respirator.
Valid licensure as a requirement to perform the job must be kept current throughout length of employment. Failure to demonstrate/show proof of possession of required valid licensure may result in dismissal and/or termination of employment.
