ABOUT THE BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE AND DATA WAREHOUSING TEAM
Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse is a new unit in the HSA Department of Information Technology established to consolidate data from different data source, validate data and to empower our agency to develop Operational and Strategic reporting capabilities. The objective of integrating different data bases and developing the capabilities to slice and dice data will help our Agency derive better insights in order to improve our operations and increase our customer satisfaction. The scope of the project is to provide the ability of performing business analysis and intelligence across Human Services Agency. The team is responsible for procuring and integrating data from the various systems within the HSA to build out executive dashboards and ad hoc reporting solutions.

The Human Services Agency (HSA) is seeking a talented, innovative ETL engineer to join its Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing (BI/DWH) team. You will design and develop the state of the art data warehouse. You will apply your knowledge in standardizing, streamlining and optimizing data loads and applying best practices to existing ETL packages. 1. Document all technical and system specifications, develop documents for all Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) processes and perform unit tests on all processes and prepare required programs and scripts.
2. Assist in the ongoing development of technical best practices for data movement, data quality, data cleansing and other ETL related activities.
3. Provide technical knowledge of Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) solutions for Business Intelligence projects and provide guidance for management project timelines, workflow and resources to meet project needs.
4. Employ advanced strategies like Pipeline partitioning, push down optimization, indirect loading of flat files etc. for improved ETL performances.
5. Design, develop, and document data mapping in ETL applications for Oracle Business Intelligence.
6. Design, develop, and document ETL best practices for Oracle Business Intelligence application.
7. Design and develop ETL techniques for change data capture, key generation, and optimization of data within oracle database.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.
An associate degree in computer science or a closely related field from an accredited college or university OR its equivalent in terms of total course credits/units [i.e., at least sixty (60) semester or ninety (90) quarter credits/units with a minimum of twenty (20) semester or thirty (30) quarter credits/units in computer science or a closely-related field].
Five (5) years of experience analyzing, installing, configuring, enhancing, and/or maintaining the components of an enterprise network.
Additional experience as described above may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis (up to a maximum of two (2) years). One (1) year is equivalent to thirty (30) semester units/ forty-five (45) quarter units with a minimum of 10 semester / 15 quarter units in computer science or a closely related field.
