2. Maintains Alternate Media resources and equipment including electronic library
3.Serves as a liaison between staff, faculty and students with disabilities and Disabled Students Programs and Services to secure and translate materials into alternate format, as well as train students on use of assistive technology
4. Provides guidelines to college personnel on formatting of documents/information for translation into alternate format.
5. Provides group in service and one on one assistance to college personnel in their design and development of web page and distance education materials to assure they meet access guidelines.
6. Provides technical assistance to campus instructional and technology committee on access requirements.
7. Serves as liaison for the Community College District (CCD) to the statewide Alternate Text Production Center and the Distance Education Captioning and Transcription Grant.
8. Provides technical assistance/consultation to CCD community on the California State guidelines for the accessibility of Distance Education materials, section 508 of the 1973 Rehabilitation Act.
9. Makes recommendations on purchase of technical hardware/software and assistive technologies.
10. Develops and maintains resource bank of current trends/developments in access technology and access strategies to accommodate various types of disabilities.
11. Maintains the Disabled Students Programs and Services web site.
12. Selects, trains, and supervises student assistants.
13. Proctors, reads or scribes for students taking exams as needed by department.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.
2. Three (3) years of full-time paid experience working with students and disabilities; AND
3a. Two (2) years of full-time paid experience producing alternate media and training in the use of alternate media;
3b. Two (2) years of full-time paid experience working as a computer graphic designer or in computer layout and design.

If a conflict exists, you will be asked to present any evidence of rehabilitation that may mitigate the conflict, except when federal or state regulations bar employment in specific circumstances, such as:

Disaster Service Workers
All City and County of San Francisco employees are designated Disaster Service Workers through state and local law (California Government Code Section 3100-3109).
