The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission’s Water Enterprise, Water Quality Division (WQD) is accepting applications for Class 9914 Public Service Aide - Administration to function as an office support assistant. Department currently has 1 (one) position. Under supervision, the 9914 Public Service Aide will be assisting in the performance of a variety of duties related to the activities of the assigned departmental unit. The work schedule days and times vary depending on the department needs (days, weekends, evenings, nights).
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, the Public Service Aide performs general clerical work of ordinary difficulty and related duties as required. Essential functions include: uploading records to SFPUC Records Management platform; examining, sorting, indexing, coding and reviewing documents for completeness and accuracy; performing a variety of mathematical computations; operating various types of office equipment; processing and distributing interoffice and U.S. mail; responsibility for explaining and carrying out existing methods and procedures relative to office operations; making routine contacts with other departmental employees and the general public in connection with office operations; gathering, preparing and maintaining a wide variety of records and reports of some complexity; performing difficult and specialized typing and office clerical work in connection with the preparation and maintenance of a wide variety of operating, financial, purchasing, accounting and similar records and reports when directed; performing a variety of routine secretarial duties involving typing, answering of telephone calls, scheduling of appointments and maintenance of confidential and administrative files.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must be high school graduates or possess GED; preferably enrolled in an accredited college or university.
