2574 CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST [CANTONESE/ENGLISH]

APPOINTMENT TYPE: Permanent and Provisional applicants are encouraged to apply. Provisional applicants must participate in a Civil Service examination process for class 2574 Clinical Psychologist to be considered for permanent appointment.
The Department of Public Health’s Chinatown North Beach Mental Health Services is accepting applications for one (1) part-time (32 hours/week) position in class 2574 Clinical Psychologist. This position requires the incumbent to be bilingual in Cantonese/English.
LOCATION: 729 Filbert Street, San Francisco, CA 94133
SHIFT/DAYS OFF: 8:30am – 5:00pm, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
The 2574 Clinical Psychologist performs essential job functions including the following:
- Conducts screening and assessments of persons who walk in or are referred for behavioral health services;
- Performs psychological and neuropsychological testing, prepare psychological reports, provide psychological consultation to providers;
- Provides range of clinical services to adults and older adults that includes individual/family/group therapy, case management, urgent care, crisis intervention (services may be provided on site or in the community);
- Collaborates with team of multidisciplinary staff and other service providers to coordinate care of clients;
- Maintains up-to-date written and electronic records, billings, and documentation in accordance with requirements; and
- Provides clinical supervision.
The 2574 Clinical Psychologist performs other related duties as assigned/required.
- Possession of a valid license as a Psychologist issued by the California Board of Psychology as defined in Chapter 6.6 of the Business and Professions Code; Psychology Licensing Law, Sections 2900-2903, 2914; AND
- SPECIAL CONDITION: Fluency in Cantonese/English (validated with a Department of Public Health administered test).

- Ability to work sensitively with diverse cultural groups and immigrant and refugee populations
- Experience working in a mental health setting with seriously mentally ill adults and older adults with co-occurring disorders
- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively in a multidisciplinary team
