Under immediate supervision, performs coordinative functions related to visitor service functions for park facilities and the collection and accounting of park use fees; and does related or other work as required in accordance with Rule 3, Section 3 of the Civil Service Rules.
CLASS CHARACTERISTICS
An employee in this class is responsible for coordinating the collection and accounting of fees for use of the County park facilities and providing information to the public on park facilities and services.
TYPICAL DUTIES
Plans, directs, supervises, and reviews the work of fee collectors; trains staff as required; participates in performance reviews and evaluations.
Schedules fee collection times and locations; reviews and verifies daily fee collection reports; prepares weekly deposits and transmits to County Treasury; resolves citizen complaints; maintains collection records, entrance station reports, accounting sheets, time cards, and other reports and records as required; ensures that camping and boating logs are complete and that reservation schedules are distributed to entrance kiosks on time.
Inventories and orders forms, tickets, and supplies as needed; keeps inventory records on all fee collection equipment including radios, chargers and vehicles.
Oversees and participates in park service activities and entrance station fee collection in areas including parking, pet, zoo admission, fishing, boating and camping.
Provides information and directions to public; answers visitor questions.
Maintains entrance station kiosk with all supplies and equipment required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
License: Possession of a valid California Driver's License.
Experience: Two years of paid experience in handling cash, making change and preparing related reports.
Substitution: Completion of 30 semester units at an accredited college or university may substitute for one year of the above-required experience.

Mobility-Frequent walking, standing, bending/squatting and pushing pulling; occasional driving, sitting or standing for long periods; Lifting-Some assignments may require ability to occasionally lift up to 70 pounds; Vision-Frequent eye-hand coordination and good overall vision; occasional reading and close-up work, color/depth perception and peripheral vision; Dexterity-Frequent reaching, holding and gripping, writing; occasional repetitive motion; Hearing/Talking-Constant hearing normal speech and talking in person; occasional talking on the telephone and/or radio; Emotional/Special Conditions-Constant public contact, decision making and concentration; frequent exposure to outdoor conditions and working weekends and/or irregular hours; occasional overtime.
