Incumbents of this class initially work under immediate supervision in the performance of a variety of standard microbiological, biochemical, clinical microscopic, hematological, immunohematological, and immunological laboratory examinations and tests. As laboratory procedures are learned, supervision becomes more general. Supervision is received from a Clinical Laboratory Scientist III. This class differs from the next higher class of Clinical Laboratory Scientist II in that incumbents of the latter class perform journeyperson level duties in performing standardized tests and examination.
