Recruitment
This recruitment is being conducted to fill multiple per diem vacancies in San Joaquin General Hospital's Radiology Department and to create a referral pool to fill future per diem vacancies. ** Per Diem positions receive
an additional 15% salary supplement in lieu of benefits.
Pre-Employment Drug Screening and Background: Potential new hires into this classification are required to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background as a condition of employment. Final appointment cannot be made unless the eligible has passed all pre-employment processes. The County pays for the initial drug screen.

TYPICAL DUTIES
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: Eighteen months performing radiographic work.
Substitution: Graduation from the San Joaquin General Hospital School of Radiologic Technology may be substituted for six months of the required experience.

Special Requirements: Possession of a State of
KNOWLEDGE
Methods and techniques of diagnostic radiography; various anatomical positions used in radiography; and care and use of radiographic equipment; safety practices to prevent overexposure to radiation.
ABILITY
Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time, manual dexterity sufficient to administer procedures and operate equipment; bend, stoop and lift patients; position patients for a variety of imaging examinations; understand and carry out complex oral and written instructions in exact detail; demonstrate the operation of x-ray equipment in practical work situations; perform minor interventional x-ray procedures; maintain records; establish and maintain effective relationships with medical staff, patients and patients families.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Mobility-Frequent operation of a keyboard, standing for long periods of time, walking, pushing/pulling, and operation of heavy equipment; occasional sitting for long periods of time and stair climbing; Frequency of Lifting-Constant lifting of 5 lbs. or less; frequent restraining, lifting/turning heavy objects or people; occasional lifting of 5 to above 70 lbs.; Visual Requirements-Constant need for overall vision, hand/eye coordination and reading/close up work; frequent need for color perception, depth perception and field of vision; Dexterity-Constant holding, reaching and grasping; frequent writing; Hearing/Talking-Constant hearing of normal speech and talking in person; frequent hearing on the telephone/radio and talking on the radio; occasional hearing of faint sounds; Emotional/Psychological Factors-Constant public contact, decision making, concentration and working alone; frequent exposure to hazardous materials, trauma, grief and death; occasional weekend/night work and overtime/travel; Environmental Conditions-Occasional exposure to hazardous materials.

Selection Procedures
