The Probation Department safeguards our community
through the services provided to clients, the court, and victims. The
Probation Department actively seeks to modify the behaviors that lead to
criminal activity and those that allow for a successful transition back into

The mission of the Probation Department is to protect
the community by:
·Facilitating rehabilitation of offenders and holding
them accountable
·Conducting investigations and providing
recommendations for the court
·Enforcing court orders
·Pursuing victim restoration and advocacy
·Providing safe, secure, effective detention and
treatment programs
This is a management level class, which oversees court services and juvenile/adult offender probation supervision or serves as the Assistant Superintendent of Juvenile Institutions. This class is distinguished from Chief Deputy Probation Officer as it is an executive management and has greater overall responsibilities for departmental operations and support functions.
This position is an "at-will" management position and is exempt from the civil service; incumbents serve at the discretion of the appointing authority.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Experience: Four (4) years of experience as a Deputy Probation Officer (Supervising) or Group Counselor (Supervising) or equivalent.
Education: A Bachelor's degree is required from an accredited college or university in Social Sciences, Management or related field.
Other: Must be a current Solano County Probation Department employee.

The County observes 12 full day fixed and 2 half day fixed paid holidays per year. Additionally, employees in this
bargaining unit receive 1 floating paid holiday per year.
Employees are eligible to receive an additional 2.5% longevity pay, per level, after the completion of continuous service at 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 years.
