Assists in the gathering,
adapting, analyzing, and interpreting of data utilizing quantitative and other
analytical techniques, in order to develop recommendations; assists in
conducting assigned preliminary surveys to determine activities being performed
and assists with the development of recommendations.
Reviews the work of
parking employees for completeness and accuracy; checks and verifies cash
receipts, reconciles daily parking activity from parking equipment and tickets
to the deposits; compares occupancies to revenue collected.
Performs monthly trend
analysis for cashiers to include exception transactions, revenue per ticket,
missing tickets, cash over/short, and time check results; enters trend analysis
information into spreadsheets on a daily basis; reviews cashier transaction
exceptions as a percentage of total transactions, exception transactions by
type, by shift and by facility; enters daily trend analysis information into
electronic spreadsheets; administers cashier and supervisor feedback forms.
Conduct spot audits at
parking facilities and special event venues; performs cash fund audits and
customer service satisfaction audits; performs missing ticket analysis;
performs monthly permit reconciliation; audits and trends meter revenue.
Performs equipment
hardware and software audits; reviews repair logs and supervisor journals to
support audit findings; performs compliance audits for contracted services to
ensure services are consistent with contract provisions.
Meets with parking supervisors
to review monthly audit results; conducts follow-up on audit report findings
and recommendations.
Performs related work as
required.
Considerable
knowledge of: business and administrative practices.
Working knowledge of: of auditing standards, accepted techniques and practices; principles, accepted practices, and methods of accounting, including those pertinent to governmental accounting; statistical and analytical evaluation techniques; effective interviewing techniques; data processing capabilities, controls, and applications to accounting and other systems.
Ability to: review financial transaction records for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to standards; sort and classify data; perform mathematical verifications and reconciliations with speed and accuracy; formulate conclusions and recommendations and present data verbally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with city employees and the general public and deal with public relations problems tactfully and courteously.
