This is highly responsible work involving coordinating and presenting training activities for all City departments.
The
employee in this class performs responsible work of more than average
difficulty involving organizing training activities for the Training and Management
Development Division and assisting in conceptualizing, designing and presenting
training material in a classroom setting and online. The employee must be an excellent communicator
with ability to effectively convey complex ideas or instruction to different audiences. Work involves assisting with the tuition
reimbursement program and serving as back-up for processing applications and
completing reimbursement authorizations when needed. Additional tasks include tracking completions
for mandatory trainings, and serving as back-up for updating training content
on the division’s INET web pages. Under
general supervision, the employee will be required to exercise reasonable
initiative and independent judgment in the performance of assigned tasks. Work is reviewed through conferences, observation,
reports submitted, and results obtained.
Considerable knowledge of: effective training principles, techniques, and methods. Knowledgeable in the science of emotional intelligence and emotional quotient.
Ability to: effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing; present data in tabular and graphic formats; coordinate and manage multiple projects simultaneously; establish and maintain effective working relationships with people at all levels in the organization; work with various platforms to deliver training offerings.
Skill in: mastering the full training cycle, strong project management, use of Windows and Microsoft Office programs.
