Primary job duty is live televised/streamed coverage of Tampa City Council
and other board meetings.
Familiarity with directing live cablecasts of public meetings and operation of video control room equipment such as video switchers, audio boards, graphics systems, and streaming media encoders is expected.
Produces, writes, shoots, and edits videos and public service announcements for the Technology and Innovation department and the Mayor’s Youth Corps.
Works with the Mayor’s Youth Corps to train students in the art of video production, producing videos to be viewed on the Mayor’s Youth Corps social media channels.
Programs and operates the automated playback system for the CTTV cable channel with the most up-to-date meetings, public service announcements, and videos available.
Works in conjunction with city staff to prepare public information media, such as videos and graphics for the video bulletin board system, that showcase the services or activities of various city departments.
Posts City Council transcripts to the City Clerk’s website.
Maintains streaming media platforms including posting videos when necessary.
Assists Video Technical Support Coordinator with headend operation, including encoders and decoders, video servers, routers/switchers, and related equipment.
Assists with equipment set up and other engineering duties.
Operates motor vehicle as required. Maintains City Council and video library.
Performs related work as required.
Advanced knowledge of: Video production including directing, technical directing, camera, graphics, audio, and editing systems, primarily Adobe Premier; use of waveform monitor and vectorscope.
Skill in: Operation of video production and video editing equipment; still photography cameras, graphic design software and operation of motor vehicles.
Ability to: Operate common video production equipment such as cameras, including Pan/Tilt/Zoom systems, video switchers, audio mixers, graphics systems and video editors; perform troubleshooting; clearly express complex ideas verbally and in written form; instruct others in the use and care of production equipment; plan, coordinate, and direct television productions; perform word processing and script writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
