Work is performed exercising considerable initiative and is relatively independent in undertaking and completing redevelopment and project management assignments. Requires sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time, exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a recurring basis, or routine keyboard operations. The job risks exposure to no significant environmental hazards. The job requires normal visual acuity, and field of vision, hearing, speaking, color perception, depth perception, and texture perception.

Manages complex projects involving the implementation of formally adopted community redevelopment area plans within the City of Tampa’s nine (9) Community Redevelopment Areas (CRAs).
Writes and negotiates redevelopment agreements. Schedules, budgets, and allocates resources for assignments and desired objectives.
Develops and implements complex redevelopment project work plans. Formulates operational policies and procedures for functions and projects.
Researches, proposes, tests, and implements innovative approaches to conducting projects to enhance quality and cost effectiveness. Ensures that projects are appropriately equipped with sufficient staffing and financial resources to optimize achievement of project goals and schedules.
Coordinates business retention and expansion efforts on behalf of the CRA.
Supervises CRA Project Managers and/or CRA support team; directs project consultants and contractors. Recommends training, selection, promotion, discharge, and other appropriate personnel actions.
Uses coaching and development to build a diverse pipeline of highly qualified talent and future leaders.
Represents the CRA when interacting with public officials and organizations. Establishes and maintains lines of communication and coordinates with City departments, property and business owners, appropriate Federal, State, and local agencies.
Provides clear and timely communications on all relevant business and people issues as they impact operations, customer service and quality of life.
Promotes world-class customer service by being accessible and responsive, anticipating customer expectations, delivering innovative and resourceful solutions, and building partnerships within the community. Remains well-informed of innovative practices in the field of community redevelopment.
May be required to work alternate hours as necessary for the efficient operation of the department.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Extensive knowledge of: principles of urban planning and neighborhood redevelopment practices; economics, public finance and other fields applied to City planning; finance, budgeting, and general accounting principles; local real estate market; real estate transaction law.
