This is responsible administrative and technical work, supervising the City’s Water Distribution Operations.
An employee in this class is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of operations employees in the Distribution Division of the Water Department to ensure daily operations of potable and reclaimed water systems. Under administrative direction, employee performs assignments which are complex and of unusual difficulty requiring the exercise of extensive initiative, independent judgment, emotional intelligence and leadership. Work is reviewed through team and leadership meetings, reports submitted and results obtained.
Provides day-to-day leadership of projects and initiatives.
Monitors and evaluates work practices and overall team performance; coaches and motivates other leadership team members, team leaders and specialists; facilitates groups; identifies problems in early stages; makes timely decisions; monitors and demonstrates continuous improvement.
Assists senior water distribution operations supervisor in strategic planning which includes budget input, resource allocation, goal development, employee development, performance evaluations, and tracking, assist with departmental goals and objectives.
Assists with the balance of resource pool through planning with all division team leaders and support supervisors.
Ensures effective two-way communication throughout the organization; communicates with City administration; serves as intergovernmental and intradepartmental liaison.
Performs related work as required.

Graduation from an accredited high school and ten (10) years of progressively responsible water distribution operations experience including two (2) years supervision leading large work teams.
Candidates with six (6) months of college coursework or higher is preferred.
Possession of a valid Florida driver’s license
Distribution Licenses – Levels I or Registration as a P.E. in the state of Florida
