Plans, assigns, supervises, trains, and reviews the work of subordinate employees engaged in activities of logistics, dispatching, service orders, work orders, and billing; provides technical advice and guidance to subordinates to ensure exceptional customer service.
Coordinates utilization of various software systems used by the department for vehicle tracking and monitoring, radio frequency identification, workforce management, scheduling and routing optimization; performs continuous evaluation and assessment of the systems used; assists with providing sustained, dynamic, and cost effective routing.
Reviews available department resources daily and weekly against demands for service and tasks action to ensure services are provided in a timely and efficient manner according to utility billing records, service agreements, department standard operating procedures and policies; leverages information in real-time to re-route and re-allocate resources; works with department supervisors to effectively resolve service, inventory, and resource issues that are outside employee controls.
Serves as department custodian of record for service rendered, billing, key performance indicators, and utilization of department resources. Creates, monitors, and reports on defined benchmarks to measure service levels, reports statistics and trends; prepares reports as needed.
Researches and responds to customer inquiries as required.
Ensures compliance with all state, federal, environmental, safety, and hazardous waste regulations.
Performs related work as required.
Extensive knowledge of: transportation/service delivery logistics or supply chain management; effective supervisory and training techniques.
Considerable knowledge of: automatic vehicle location/tracking systems, computer aided dispatch and radio transmitting systems; operating methods, standard methods, practices, and procedures employed in logistics and dispatching operations.
Ability to: react quickly, calmly, and rationally in urgent situations; speak clearly and communicate effectively; assign, schedule, supervise, and review work of others; prepare administrative and technical reports and papers.
Skill in: computers (Excel, Word, reporting software).
