Summer Recreation / Youth Leaders ($15.00/hour)
Summer Recreation Leader: Applicants must be at least 18 years or older; possess a
high school degree or equivalent; be able to commit to a 11-week schedule; be
able to attend paid training sessions. Directs a variety of recreational
leadership and educational activities at the Police Athletic League. Supervises
participants in individual and group games, arts and crafts, sports, and
special activities, in addition to coaching and officiating team activities.
May be required to participate in both indoor and outdoor instructional
activities, work varied hours including evening and weekend hours, work
with participants of various ages, and work at various locations. Must be able
to perform work requiring physical stamina in an indoor and outdoor setting. Some
experience and/or education working with children in art
instruction, recreation or physical education is desired. May be scheduled
up to 40 hours weekly.
Youth Leader: Applicants must be 16 years or older for Summer Youth Leaders; max 17 years old. Assists with activities in an all-day seasonal camp and/or after-hours program for youth. May be scheduled up to 30 hours per week.
A valid driver's license may be required.
Evaluation of education and experience. Drug testing is included in all pre-employment processing.
