Plans, assigns, directs, and reviews the work of subordinate personnel; determines scanning priorities and establishes workflow schedules; recommends employment, promotion, transfer, discipline, and termination of employees; completes employee performance evaluations.
Advises departmental officials on digitization needs and works closely with departments on digitizing their paper documents and adding them to the ECM (Enterprise Content Management) repository; consults with vendors to determine proper equipment; maintains storage systems for security copies of historic microfilm; obtains bids for digitization equipment and maintenance.
Performs quality control review of a wide variety of documents generated by division staff to ensure conformance and standards; provides advice and technical guidance as necessary to help others.
Performs preventive maintenance, and makes minor repairs on scanners and other equipment.
Responsible for Records Center operation in absence of the Records Manager.
Performs related work as required.
Considerable knowledge of: a variety of computer programs; digitization methods including scanning and microfilm conversion; proper storage of microfilm and archival photographs; state rules and regulations pertaining to records retention, digitization and film preservation.
Working knowledge of: effective supervisory techniques.
Ability to: plan, assign, direct, and review the work of subordinate personnel; operate, clean, adjust, and make minor repairs on scanning equipment; establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and municipal and state officials; prepare and present oral and written reports.
Skill
in: the operation of digitization
equipment, Enterprise Content Management (ECM), and the performance of other
routine computer operations
Evaluation of education and experience. Drug testing is included in all pre-employment processing.
