The employee in this class is responsible for supervising and
overseeing projects and coordinating parking facilities improvements and
repairs. The employee oversees and manages projects for the division to assure
minimal disruption of services to the parking operation. Reasonable initiative
and independent judgment are required in coordinating activities with
individuals both within and outside the department. Work is reviewed through
conferences, reports submitted, and results achieved.
Coordinates
parking facilities improvements and repairs through various funding sources.
Oversees
and manages projects for the division to assure minimal disruption of services
to the parking operation.
Performs
routine scheduled inspections of contractual custodial services, ensuring
compliance with approved cleaning specifications, departmental regulations and
safety requirements and reports deficiencies or non-compliance to supervisor.
Knowledge
of cleaning supplies, products, equipment, and related safety procedures.
Maintains
logs, records, and prepares related reports.
Responds
to any supplemental projects, duties, or other areas of concern as directed or
assigned by the Parking Division Manager.
Attends
meetings, participates on committee, and performs training functions as
requested by the Parking Division Manager; carries out special assignments as
required.
Plans, assigns,
schedules, supervises, and reviews the work of subordinates; recommends actions
such as employment, promotions, transfers, demotions, suspensions, and
dismissals; responds to requests for leave; completes performance evaluations
and administers required discipline.
Performs
related work as required.
Working knowledge of: Basic mathematics,
effective supervisory techniques.
Ability to: oversee and manage projects; supervise, plan,
organize, and evaluate subordinate performance and initiate corrective action
as needed; perform computer functions; communicate effectively and courteously
with the general public when required; plan, assign, supervise, and review the
work of subordinate employees; establish and maintain effective working
relationships with employees, municipal officials; maintain records and prepare
reports; lift, carry and move supplies and equipment, train subordinate
employees in the performance of assigned tasks.
Graduation from an accredited high school or vocational school with
one (1) year of parking systems, facilities maintenance or related to include six
months of lead or supervisory experience.
Evaluation of education and experience. Drug testing is included in all pre-employment processing.
During periods when the Mayor issues an emergency declaration for
the City of Tampa, all employees may be required to work in preparation,
response or recovery activities related to the stated emergency.
