An employee in
this class is responsible for performing a variety of technical computer
programming and systems analysis tasks of more than average difficulty. Employees coordinate and monitor
the work of technical project
team members in the completion of specified assignments. Tasks include the design, development or modification,
testing, and implementation of data processing systems, programs, and procedures.
Tasks require that the employees consult with user personnel, functional data processing personnel, and other
project team members
to resolve technical questions. Although
under general supervision, employees are expected to exercise considerable
initiative and independent judgment in selecting work methods and performing
assigned tasks. An employee in this class may be subject to on-call status on a
rotating basis to provide 24-hour/7-day service. Work is reviewed while in
progress and upon completion through discussions and reports submitted.
Develops and/or
modifies applications/systems/processes
from specifications; assists in technical systems design from functional specifications; develops documentation or modifies existing
documentation for applications/systems/processes according
to standards.
Participates in training programs
to develop new skills and maintain existing
competencies; conducts training
sessions; assists in the preparation and delivery of user training programs.
Analyzes problems
and implements solutions; consults with functional team members, users,
and technical project
team members on technical
questions; coordinates, schedules, assigns, and monitors the work of technical
project team members.
Conducts cost/benefit analyses; conducts technical research and prepares and presents reports on findings.
Performs related work as required.

Skills in:
• Knowledge of IT
service delivery and problem management processes
• Advanced
working knowledge for installing and troubleshooting Microsoft 365 products
• 3+ years
experience in design, configuring, and troubleshooting MEM
• 5+ years
experience administration and support of Microsoft Group Policy and Active
Directory
• Working
knowledge of common best practices for project management procedures
• Ability to
manage/coordinate small to medium size technical projects
• Demonstrable
customer service skills
• Demonstrable
verbal communications skills
• Demonstrable
written communications skills including technical documentation
Ability to:
• Research, respond to and resolve complex questions received via
telephone calls, callbacks, email, help desk software or escalations
• Investigate and resolve Microsoft OS problems, Internet browser
and other Enterprise-wide issues in accordance with current standards
• Create, administer, and troubleshoot MEM application and program
installations enterprise wide as well as specifically targeted computers
(Departments, Teams or individual)
• Maintain drivers in MEM for all City standard computer models.
• Maintain patching schedule for servers and workstations
enterprise wide.
• Create, administer, and troubleshoot Windows OSD deployments
including OS upgrades with MEM.
• Administer and support Microsoft Group Policy and Active
Directory
• Coordinate and support technical support processes among City
sites to ensure timely distribution of knowledge and positive impact on user
satisfaction and productivity
• Monitor the status of open work orders for themselves and their
team
• On Call for after-hour support of the City’s various OS
Platforms as needed
• Flexible work hours as needed to support the City’s after-hours OS Platform needs
• Provide written documentation, including reports and technical drawings
