Job Description

Loudoun County's Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services, Aging division, an Area Agency on Aging, is currently seeking qualified applicants for an Elder Resources Technical and Resource Specialist located in Ashburn, VA. Duties include maintenance of the Agency’s AIM (Advanced Information Management) and PeerPlace software as required by the Virginia Department of Aging and Rehabilitative Services (DARS) staff to ensure Agency’s compliance with state and federal reporting requirements. This position provides reports to the State of Virginia and various agency personnel, collects data for program evaluation and works with division and information technology liaisons to ensure software is properly maintained. Assists in the establishment of policies and procedures for AIM and PeerPlace data collection and entry and the storage and maintenance of clients’ records. Develops, implements, and provides orientation and training program for staff including data entry and program procedures on a regular basis. Develops reference guides regarding data collection, entry, and storage/maintenance procedures. Serves as back-up for Information and Referral/Assistance Elder Resource personnel assisting clients telephonically and in person. Participates in Aging division outreach activities, provides excellent customer service and maintaining confidentiality.

Job Requirements

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major work in nursing, social work, gerontology or a related human service field; and two years’ experience working with seniors. Familiarity with database and word processing systems is desired. Master of Social Work or RN preferred.

Special Requirements

Valid driver’s license is required.
