INTRODUCTION

The Department of Family Services is seeking qualified applicants who are drawn to a fast-paced, transformative environment for the position of Assistant Director, Clinical & Residential Services who is responsible for direct oversight of critical child/adult services which include:

  • Child Protective Services
  • Foster Care and Adoption
  • Children's Services Act for At-Risk Children (CSA)
  • Juvenile Detention Center
  • Family Connections
  • Adult Protective Services

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Assistant Director, Clinical & Residential Services is responsible for improving collaborations, consistency and efficiencies, and developing a more integrated, family-centered approach to services for at-risk children and adults who are served by the Department, as well as supervision of the Program Managers in each critical child/adult service area. This position will represent department management at County, Regional, and State meetings in the assigned areas.

Must have the demonstrated ability to:

  • Communicate effectively with Department Heads, County Administration, and the Board of Supervisors as directed. 
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with agency staff, County Administration, courts, local officials, and community partners.
  • Develop performance metrics for Human Services programs, a proven success record with organizational change processes, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and workforce management to include caseload assignments/review and quality improvement.

Requires extensive clinical knowledge and experience working as well as experience with culturally-diverse communities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Any combination of experience and education equivalent to a Master's degree in Social Work or a related field
  • Minimum 7 years of directly related professional experience, including supervisory oversight, which must be included on application.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in the administration of Child & Adult Welfare and Child & Adult Serving Programs required.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Clinical licensure strongly preferred; i.e. Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
