We are currently seeking a Radio Communications Engineer to join our Public Safety Infrastructure team. This position will: 

  • serve as a lead engineer in support of the County’s Public Safety Radio system
  • maintain the Public Safety Communications systems including the 800 MHz radio system, Low Band paging, and the microwave network
  • lead the implementation of projects related to the County’s Public Safety radio system and microwave associated systems
  • perceive, identify, and recommend solutions to customer-related issues
  • maintain documentation related to system configuration, design, repairs, requests, actions taken and root cause analysis

  • the ability to strategically plan the engineering requirements for the radio and associated systems
  • the skills to make recommendations associated with master prime site and additional tower implementations
  • great people skills and know-how to help people solve business problems

Job Requirements

Requires education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s s degree with major coursework in a related field and at least three years of professional experience in a related field,

Special Requirements

Special requirements/preferences 800 MHz experience Support of Public Safety systems. Will participate in on-call rotation and is subject to recall 24/7 to provide critical system support.
