This position may be under filled as a Security Analyst at the Specialist I/II level.
The Information Security Office seeks a motivated security professional primarily responsible for security infrastructure monitoring, management, and troubleshooting. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day monitoring and management of security infrastructure, which includes but is not limited to e-mail security, web content filtering, network access control (NAC), endpoint security, patch management, multi-factor authentication, mobile device management (MDM), and security information and event management (SIEM). Integral to this role, the candidate must be able to monitor, manage, and troubleshoot diverse network, system, and application security infrastructure. The ability to work with County staff, both IT and non-IT, to assist with resolving issues is required. Additional responsibilities and tasks include the ability to assist with policy, risk and vulnerability assessment, and regulatory compliance duties, as needed.
A combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, or a related field, and at least 2 years of experience in an Information Security analyst or engineering role working with a combination of security infrastructure systems, or at least 3 years of experience for the Specialist III level. Systems should include at least three or more of the following: application layer firewall, e-mail security, web filter and/or proxy, endpoint management, NAC, remote access VPN, multi-factor authentication, and SIEM. A firm understanding of basic network architecture and network, system, and application security is strongly preferred. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Experience with next generation security appliances, vulnerability scanning, and assessment tools is preferred. Experience with Network+, Security+, or vendor security certification(s) is also preferred. Weekend and evening assignments and on-call rotation support will be required for this position. Must be able to lift and carry up to 65 pounds and maneuver in confined spaces.
