Summary

This position is based at Charlotte Douglas International Airport and provides support for the federally mandated Limited English Proficiency (LEP) Program, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Title VI. This position reports to the Office of Civil Rights – ADA Coordinator and requires considerable initiative, contact with the public and critical thinking.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

1) Assist with researching, collecting and analyzing updated and expanded census data in accordance with LEP Program requirements.
2) Work with ADA Coordinator to communicate with internal and external stakeholders (i.e. City, Airlines, TSA, and other airport tenants) 
3) Maintain organized documentation and compliance regulations library
4) Participate in routine terminal and building assessments to ensure compliance with the ADA and LEP Programs. Create corrective action plan for items that need to be brought into compliance.
5) Organize, lead and participate in special events and community meetings in accordance with Title VI community action plan.
6) Participate in organizations and events that promote and support ADA/LEP inclusion initiatives. 
7) Respond to general questions and concerns from passengers and the public.
8) Assist the public with reasonable accommodations requests as needed.
9) Assist with developing and implementing new initiatives for both the LEP and ADA Programs.
10) Identify and coordinate translation of documents to languages other than English
11) Monitor and submit updates to Airport website for Programs as needed
12) Perform other duties as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) & Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 preferred.
Ability to conduct research, plan and execute initiatives.
Must be proficient in Excel, Word and other MS Office Programs with the ability to learn new programs quickly. Experience utilizing database programs and ability to access information from the Internet and Intranet.
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, and to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Proficient organizational skills required.
Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a timely manner.
Must have the ability to multi-task.
Bi-lingual skills are preferred but not required.

Preferred Qualification

Prefer a bachelor’s degree with major coursework in business administration or related field and demonstrated experience in program management and compliance or similar experience.   

Minimum Qualifications

High School Graduate or Equivalent and three years related work experience

OR

Associate's Degree with one year related work experience

OR

Bachelor's Degree
